Timeworn Poem by Marijke McKinney

Timeworn

I’m wearing my I don’t cares
Timeworn cigarettes and cheap wine
Say what you want
I’m not listening

Estranged in this beat down house
Faint eyes wondering perpetually
Slender fingers picking at the cushions
Laughing at myself sarcastically

Black pea coat so over worn
Long hair covering the dwindled eyes
Slumped over the emptiness
Everything I have I don’t need

I’m wearing my I don’t cares
