To Beauty - Poem by A. L. Breitling

Drink to me only with thine eyes
and leave the beer for yours truly.
I know it’s hard not to despise
this poetic ha and quite unruly
soul, but for our love, give it a try.
Let me taste those lips so lately
kissed by wine, that I might find
inspiration or a buzz, however slightly
felt. So here’s to love, lust, and breast
augmentation, backless dresses, sex
and liposuction. Were there but world enough
and time, I could think of some romantic stuff;
but as it stands my mouth is rather dry,
so drink to me only with thine eyes.
