To Daddy Poem by karin collins

To Daddy

Daddy we miss you
Why did you go?
Did you leave,
‘Cause we did something wrong?

Did we yell too much?
Or not go to bed?
Or brushing our teeth,
Took too long?

We’re little and scared,
We thought that you cared,
Don’t you love us?
We don’t understand.

Mommy cries too,
And we don’t know what to do,
Except hug her,
And try holding her hand.

You have a new home,
Wasn’t ours good enough?
Without you here,
Feels so wrong.

We try to be happy,
But we’re angry and sad,
You’ve been gone,
For far too long.

We know we’re not perfect,
We thought that you were,
We thought we’d be,
Always protected.

Instead you’ve found two,
More important to you,
Spend your time with,
And we’ve been rejected

Do they make you happy?
And do what they’re told?
We’ll never know,
What we did.

Leaving your children,
The way that you have,
Is too much for,
Two little kids.

The days that we miss you,
Fail to compare,
With the damage,
We’ll live with forever.

Knowing we grew,
Without a father we knew,
How could your arrangement,
Be better?

Ohanna means family,
No one left behind,
But that must not,
Mean much to you.

So go on and leave us,
It’s really ok,
It must be something,
That you’ve go to do.

We’ll stay with Mommy,
‘Cause she needs us more,
Although you may,
Not agree.

But we are a family,
That’s broken and torn,
With a Dad,
Who is happier free.
