Touch Of A Dream - Poem by Dana Aran

In a dim glow of sunshine I saw your face
Like in a dream where you are my beloved
And nothing can submit the feeling that
You will ever leave me.

But the dream always ends
And your love cannot endure
The ephemeral time, and we all

In the dance of a man and a woman
Joy and hunger come together
Pushing towards their union
But they can never touch.

They strive to reach each other
In a nature that belongs to the gods
And they don’t understand that feeling connected
Is love.

Is love enough, they then wonder?
And the gods fall down and slumber,
And nothing can restore the peace
They once held together.

The soul is wretched and wants more,
More and more and it is empty
Like in the moment before the dream
Fulfils it yet again.
