Treating Cheap Tricks Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Treating Cheap Tricks

Treating cheap tricks,
For eyes to think a cheater.
But lies to do it more.

Treating cheap tricks.
Hiding inside a denial.
As tears down cheeks pour,
Secretly behind closed doors.
Doing this done like a chore to score.
But for who and what for?

Wanting to be loved by one adored.
That one believing,
Another to be nothing but a whore.
And not a flirting virgin.
Craving to be hugged and frenched kissed.
On lips seen to lick.
When one strolls slowly in public.
Looking every bit the tramp.
Stamped as a common 'ho'.
Not someone out seeking,
To be treated special.
Yet difficult for anyone to accept,
Or imagine it to believe...
Someone like this could possibly,
Live alone.
Discreetly with wishes,
To perform for just one.
Who comes home to possess,
What awaits undressed...
Knowing the taking is theirs.
As if to own.

"Why would you want people,
Thinking to believe you are a slut! ? "

-Well...
If I didn't,
Would you have found me attractive?
Would you have discovered me to be,
Someone who sought only you...
To stay and be with only me? -

"So...
What is it that you imply? "

-Why is it,
Only you knew I was just a teaser.
And only you knew for 'you',
I was meant to be.
Now...
Would you like coffee or tea.
Or more adventurous discoveries? -

"You keep it fresh, huh? "

-For you.
Yes.
Of course.-
