Trust In Me - Poem by Katharine Byrd

We come from different worlds
Two different lives, hearts, languages.
Yet, I know what you are,
And I know what you feel.
The sorrow cannot be released
Until you want it to sweet friend.
The burden you carry can and will break you.
Open your doors and let me help you.
The pain that you have suffered is fathomless,
It cannot and should not be explained.
The carelessness given
To the holding of your heart
Is measureless
And cannot heal until you let it go.
Open your doors and let me heal you.
Sweet angel,
Your wings are damaged, not destroyed.
Use them or they will weigh you down with remembrance.
Open your wings
And I will help you fly.
You cannot and should not forget the pain,
But use it to make you stronger.
Strive against it and watch it weaken
As you grow.
Come to me,
And I will help you thrive.
We come from different worlds you and I.
But our journey is the same,
And our hearts are as one.
Ask for me,
And I will follow.

Differences can be bridged when the heart is warm and compassionate. This is a poem worthy of the name.

    Kind regards,
