Truth - Poem by james nguyen

It distinguishes itself through our minds
Different or not it shows itself in all kinds
Hate it, despise it….it is there
It hurts……but no one cares
Try as we might, we run
Like the waters of lies from the heat of truth
Shone brilliantly by the sun
It is truth

We care not, for lies comfort us
Hear from it we must
For without it, we will perish
And everything else that we cherish
Ourselves that we see, all hide
For time won’t even keep it abide

Our dreams woven by our lives
Can be easily skewered by knives
Knives that are held by lies
It is seen throughout our eyes
It is our light
It is our curse
Try as we might
In it we must submerse
It is truth
