Two Girls In The Park Poem by norman hale

Two Girls In The Park

Two little girls were
walking through the park
They should have known better
Because it was after dark

When out from behind a tree
Jumped out a big ol boogieman
He growled 'I'm going to eat you! '
They laughed 'catch me if you can'

They took off running
As fast as they could go
The boogieman was loosing ground
He was way too slow

The girls hid behind trees
As the boogieman passed them by
They went back from the way the came
Just as fast as their feet could fly

The boogieman finally caught on
And he too turned around
By now he was very mad
And let out a growling sound

As he got back to the park
He saw the girls running past the street lights
He growled I'll get you one day
Then thought this just was not his night

The girls made it home
Just in time to go to bed
And as they twisted and turned
The memories were going through their heads
