Unfortunately - Poem by Sarah Roberts
You try so hard to just 'make it work' and cope with the brief satisfaction of feeling loved.
Hoping that one day the realization of what letting go could potentially bring you.
Most would think that being hurt so bad by someone would make the leaving easier or automatic.
Instead, you stay because the loss of them means more to you then hurt they bring you.
The thought of losing them scares you so bad that it manipulates you out of having a life of rightful and much deserved happiness.
Your bruised and beaten heart is being held by a dictator and the hands of the dictator are not your own.
Sometimes escaping for a while and embracing and accepting change can bring a whole new life to you where the past does not control you.
Leaving is one of the hardest things to do but you have to be strong enough not to give a damn.
It's true you can't change the past but you CAN change the future and learn from the past, and you need to. Because, in the end all these things add up and eventually create a roadblock that you have to break down piece by piece and the higher you build it, the longer you wait, the more time it takes to break down, and the harder it gets.
