Unprepared For Your Storm Poem by Brandi Cuff

All through high school;
With a crush so pure,
School girl giggles,
Smiles galore!

Innocence sounds
and waves it's flag;

Boy meets girl;
Do you like me;
Check yes or no,
With this note attached

Though we were young and lively
Our admirance were never admitted,
To it's entirety

Destiny chose to await for us
When were all grown up.

Eight years later we meet again
The same way we felt
Just like a kid again!

Two years I gave;
Two years we spared
And down this road,
Came along things

I was so unprepared......


You hurt before you love
I pushed for you;
You shoved......


I gave you all;
You've given me half......

You broke my heart
I've taken you back......


And now there is a calm storm
That sits and waits.....

I feel another brewing...

But my heart is now safe....
Locked away in it's cage.

An yet I still love you,

Or do I?
