Until Poem by Glen Kappy

Until

Rating: 5.0

one's seen enough
heard enough
had enough

of struggle
of suffering
of pain

the upward-looking eyes
of these statue saints
that front the church
seem only strange.

Thanks for your comment, Manonton. I think it takes certain life experiences to recognize the helplessness and desperation that causes us to look beyond ourselves, the kind good parents try to protect us from as children, the kind we’d rather not have to live in long. -Glen
