Untitled Poem by A. Ahmed-Harun

Rating: 2.7

I had a sudden, great desire to see again
the one who lived and saw with inner light
and loved infallibly.

The airport, where so many times I glimpsed
his anxious, noble face among the crowds,
now bore no trace;

I searched in vain in all his daily haunts: the
shops, the place of worship where, along with others,
he performed his prayers;

Today his face did not appear.

The room where he passed many happy hours
was very silent, very still; but now at last
I feel completely assured of his presence.

My desire to see the face of my beloved father
was overwhelming, as was my desire to hear his voice;
What was it he wished so urgently to say/

But a force called earth had stopped his voice
for evermore.

A poem needs a title or it's like you don't really care about it.
