Vanished Into A Purple Haze - Poem by Orlando Belo
We began hand in hand on our journey along the road of life,
and we battled through all kinds of stormy weather.
Unfortunately, the signs, side roads, and bridges we have crossed,
have proved too many for us to remain together.
Even though, I think we still care a little for each other,
it is increasingly difficult to live as one any more.
We don't smile or behave the same as we once did,
and we dread each other coming through the door.
There's no doubt our relationship has run its full course,
we are already going our separate ways.
Our original goals and dreams no longer exist,
like our love they have vanished into a purple haze.
That has led us to here, the crossroads of our final journey.
So, what do you suggest, where do we go from here?
I agree with you, we cannot possibly stay together,
it sounds like a last goodbye, over a welcome glass of cheer?
