Vengeance - Poem by Prince Adeyoju Ademola

Oh vengeance!
Savage beast, enemy of man.
Rages like a thunderous storm.
Not one it cannot re-form.

For eternity it'll exist.
Till eternity it'll consume.
Not anything it can defile.
This notorious enemy of man.

Like monster it feeds.
Like death it devours.
Man's truest conscience.
Made in no time worthless.

Fortunately it treads.
On known sacred paths.
Known but dangerously vast.
Few however escaped it.

Those too strong.
Those few indomitable.
Are known to be gods.
Rare gods among men.

Oh vengeance! what is it?
What is it you want?
Dwell hence in your palace.
Lest earth become hell.

None I'm sure embrace.
Thy mission-bent sting.
No friend or foe matters.
When your tongue is dry.
