Vestigial Lucidity - Poem by Kelly Kurt

I cannot be insane, can I?
Questioning the fact establishes rationality
Or so I’ve told myself
The voices I hear are my own
Taunting, teasing, intermittently inspirational
Balanced on a silver thread
One side, genius
The other, madness
Tremors threaten to topple
Which way will I fall?
How long can I remain poised?
Preserving my vestigial lucidity

A deeply engrossing work into your own mind, I think the subject mater is universal in all writers, yet its heavily nuanced hear. Insanity is a partial ingredient to an artists mind, either way you seem to make something vestigial into a solid work of clear thought. (Report) Reply

Thank you, Kevin. I believe you are right, writers walk that line sometimes, as do all artists. The mind has a mind of its own and occasionally overrides my words

Kelly Kurt thinks more than others, why man is not called an animal (though he is) , because he thinks more than the animals. another evidence that Kelly Kurt is a philosopher poet. (Report) Reply

Thank you, my friend. I have a lot of time on my hands to think. So I do. : -)
