Waiting Poem by Natomae Ashioma

Waiting

Waiting on the shore, the quiet girl stands
She waits for her love, whose's gone to far lands
He's made her a promise, he's given her a ring
And thinking of this, in her heart her voice sings-
Come home to me love, come home to me dear
I've waited so long, and I'm standing right here
When will you come home, I miss you so much
I long for your kiss, not forgotten your touch
I pray all is well, and you journey home swift
Till then I shall wait, as the seasons do shift-
Spring unto summer, summer to fall
She thinks of those memories, she thinks of them all
Fall unto winter, then again unto spring
When her love comes home, one voice shall not sing
Two voices shall sing, two hearts long apart
And her love shall be with her, in body and heart
