Waiting - Poem by Jessica Mitchell

I lay waiting for you
I lay here with the tears
Thinking of all you do
Avoiding all the mirrors

You said you would call
But the phone remains silent
The hands on the clock fall
Reading the cards you sent

I lay here waiting for you
Remembering the past
Thinking of all you do
Trying so hard to make it last

I see your face in my dreams
I hear your voice in the silence
All I hears are my own screams
Surrounded by my own nonsense

I lay here waiting for you
Wishing you were here
Thinking of all I do
To hold you near
