Walk Alone Poem by Timothy Lee Hollandsworth Jr.

Walk Alone

Rating: 5.0

Staring down the long dark road
I must walk it alone
I never did what I was told
Now travel on the wind
I'm the sand in your skin
The thorn in your side
The flooding high tide
The father of fire
The lesser mans sire
I must bear it alone
Your pains are mine

Preying like a hawk
I smell your fear
I carry you off
and it's alone I must walk
I'm the monster in the dark
Take the failing heart
The heat of the day
The devil when he comes to play
The poison that binds
The master of the times
I must bear it alone
I'm on my own
No one knows what it's like
To bear this knife
To live hatred's life.
