Warm Summer Night - Poem by Linda Bella Wassermeister

moon shines between leaves
robins tuck heads under wings
cat prowls beneath tree

sunflowers droop heads
mosquitoes settle on cat
night crawlers surface

roses scent night air
stars sparkle in darkened sky
cat yowls for pleasure

breeze cools waiting grass
crickets sing in the garden
cat sleeps on back porch
