Waste Not; Want Not Poem by Tim Roper

Waste Not; Want Not

Waste not; want not.
Tie the string up with a knot.
Adding to the ball of twine,
That marks the passing of our Time.

Waste not; want not.
Many the days that Time has wrought.
Larger grows the ball of Time.
Never, ever, to unwind.

Waste not; want not.
Remember all that we were taught.
Each instant, ‘round the ball will wind.
Days vanished; forgotten; sublime.

The ball is larger now; near the end
Of our paltry days; just ‘round the bend.
Many the days that Time has wrought.
Waste not; want not.
