Watch Them Burn - Poem by Eric Birdsall
You're a shot not worth taking,
A mistake, not worth making,
The only rule, not worth breaking,
You're the love, not worth faking.
Bottle up these memories,
and soak them in kerosine.
Set them afire, and watch them burn,
I'll consider this, a lesson learned.
So tell me that you need this,
Cause I know I need this,
Tell me that you want this,
As much as I do
I say I'm sorry and you know I mean it,
It's never been this hard to fake it,
So I'll try my best to ignore it,
But it always comes back to the fact,
That I can't get over you.
