We Said - Poem by Rachel Willcox

You say that you liked me, you say that this is true
You say you meant it, every word, you say that you are blue.
You say that there are problems, You say you must fight
You say that this is wrong, you say it can't be right.

You say that your mad about me, you say its wrecking your head
You say if I was closer you would make a move, you say you'd take me to bed.
You say the life we live is tough to bring us through, you say its wrong to want me like I am wantin you.
You say you had to tell me of how you really feel, You say this isn't over your want for me is real.

I say I want you badly, I say I need you madly,
I say only you matter to me, I say its us I want to be!

You say come and see me, you say we'll spend the night
You say its kind of risky, you say I'm worth the fight.
I say this isn't easy, I say I really might
I say I cant be with you, I say this isn't right.

The feelings that run through me, seem to run through you too
We both know it should be stopped since theres another woman with you.
You say you care so dearly, so vivid, so real and right
I say my heart burns for you clearly but you'll be single if we're to reach that night!
