Weed For A Rose - Poem by Gordon Jerome

A clear starry sky
Overhead you and I
A blanket beneath on the ground
With you in my arms
Enjoying my charms
A sweeter time I have never found
As you lay here with me
Life’s the best it can be
This world is a much kinder place
As I stroke your long hair
And show how much I care
You respond with a smile on your face
With such a beauty as yours
You could open so many doors
I wonder why me it was that you chose
But I will simply rejoice
I was your loving choice
A mere weed for such a beautiful rose.
“closing thought”
Love is not just for great beauty to find
It’s said that the heart is often quite blind
