Weeping Willow - Poem by Venus Lanaux

Weeping Willow,

It seems as though forever you'll stand;

Never bending when the wind blows,

Never caving in as the earth imposes its demands.

Oh, Weeping Willow, how I envy you so.

When the world tries to move you,

You never let go,

You don't crack under the pressure-

You hold your post,

You assert your position as most unlike the most.

Weeping Willow, so secure and so strong,

I've a question for you;

Outstanding one, what is it that's so wrong,

Why do you posture so blue?

What on earth could have possibly hurt you?
