What Good Did It Do - Poem by DEBORAH MAPLES

What good did it do for you to leave
when he convienced you, in him to believe.
What good did it do, what good at all
when he promised you forever in a world so small.
When he said he could give you the mansion on the hill
you believed his lies we're true and real.

If you can believe that truth is right
follow your heart to find the light.
For tomorrow is another day
that looks brighter on your way.
What good did it do when he filled your head
with the things he promised, the lies he said.

What good did it do for you to leave
when he promised you the moon and you believed.
What good did it do for you to know
what lyes beneath a liers soul.
What good did it do for you to leave
when you went back because you believed.
