What Happens Now - Poem by Stephanie Cendejas

What happens now
Now that you are gone
Now that you are not here anymore
Now that you are watching over me

What happens now
Now that I cant see you any more
Now that I no longer can talk to you
Now that I can no longer listen to your voice

What happens now
Now that we’ve lost a friend, a brother, a dad, a grandpa
Now that your somewhere else
Now that I have lost you

What happens now
Now that I visit you at a cementary
Now that the only thing I have of you is pictures and memories
Now that the only way I can see you is in the little memories I have left of you

What happens now
Now that they say everything happens for a reason
Now that they say that’s how life works
Now that they say I’m going to be ok

What happens now
When I’m not ok
When I’ve lost you and want you here
When I need you here

GRANDPA YOU LEFT TO SOON
GRANDPA YOU LEFT WHEN I MOST NEEDED YOU
GRANDPA YOU LEFT WITH OUT ANYTHING BEING SAID
GRANDPA THAT’S THE ONE THING I MOST REGRET
GRANDPA TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
