What I Gave You - Poem by Edgar Ramos

I gave you my time. Hours out of my day
To listen to anything you had to say
You gave me hours too. But hours of tears
And days of screaming that nobody hears

I gave you my thoughts. To offer a solution
In hardships of life. The hearts pollution
You gave me thoughts. But in the form of hate
And proving I was stupid for taking the bait

I gave you my soul, my heart, and my care
So you would always have someone with some love to share
You took all my heart, my care, and my soul
And used it so rudely to wipe your... you know

I gave you everything... and you didn't give back
But left my heart broken in half down the crack
