What You Make Of It

It is a slight shift in chemicals
A rush of endorphins or adrenaline
An increase in hormones
A simple, primitive desire
That can be replicated with anyone.

It is undying compassion
Dedication to a single human being
A feeling of bliss when they are near
A feeling of sadness when they are far
That is only felt toward someone you can call your best friend.

Love is what you make of it.
