What You Really See Is Not The Real Me - Poem by Kelsey Klehn

The only thing that you see is what I’m not afraid to show
You have to know it’s not you at all
I’m just afraid to fall
Underneath it all are secrets about me
And who I don’t want to be
Its not you at all its me

What is shown is what you see
You have to understand this is me
Its the person I try to be
Its the person I pretend to be so you don’t see that I‘m not happy
Beneath my armored layer is something you should see
Its the real me

The one I want to be
The one I hope you can always see
Its not you its me
