When Life Becomes Death - Poem by Mugdha Khedkar

When life is an ocean,
adapt to it
as a fish
which despite the depth
and vastness of the sea,
lives just fine
and doesn't cease to be.

When life is a sword
and seems to pierce you
through your heart
shield yourself
and overpower its blade
with all that you have
without getting afraid.

When life is darkness
shine as a ray of light
vanquish the dark cage
and set free
towards the bright horizon,
happiness, and
clear vision.

When life is a fire
and leaves its marks on you
turn into water
pour hard on life
hold your nerve
fight with life for
what you deserve.

When life is silence
and sings its own song
with no word
take shape of a nightingale
and sing along
engulf the silence
in your own beautiful song.

When life becomes death,
become its slave,
let it take you away,
wherever it will
do not grieve
but before you go away
don't forget to live.
