When We Were Here. - Poem by Napuhkins Chan
I remembered when in 2nd grade
We first gazed a glimpse at each other
We were different and had nothing in relation
So I said hi
And you smiled back
We planted daises in the rocks
while laughing without any interference
I remember in 5th grade
We used to chase boys
Who ever make fun of us
Or call us names
And our friendship was inseperatable
Even when comments made us doubt
Now in this year
you've changed so much
You're not as fun
You don't come to me support anymore
And suddenly because he is yours forever more
I cannot stay by your side
Because you refuse to listen
You do not invite me to your plans anymore
and I think now
Before when I lifted you up from your downfall
I guess that means nothing now
considering that you have him to make you happy
You no longer open up your heart to me
because you're scared that I might chain it up for you.
Am i really that hurtful?
Or was I just protecting you from reality.
But I guess you'll never know that
My best friend for 6 years
I hope you live happy
And I hope he stays in your life
And he shall make you happy
While I cannot.
And I will watch from a distance
Where you can't see my tears.
And those moments when we intwined fingers
And promised forever and ever that we can never be seperated
but look at the promise you and I made now
That compromise is no longer there
And I guess that leaves me with a half heart still refusing to let go.
