Who Am I? - Poem by zac Skinner
I can hear our hearts still beating
Each one with a memory to view
Oh how, it starts repeating...
The reasons why I fell in love with you
My ground was shaking with the shattering skies
But when I saw you and I looked into your eyes
In just that one moment, my life began to make sense
At times I let jealousy get the best of me at my own expense
I was upset because I was afraid
I was afraid of what I didn't understand
Despite all that you were still willing to embrace my hand.
No matter how much I pushed you away
You knew there was a me I had yet to portray
Like an image disrupted from a stone thrown into a pond
In time the ripples will die, revealing what's beyond
To think of losing you is almost too much to bare
But to think of hurting you more...
Leaves my heart in disrepair
