Who Is That Boy?

The boy on the right is me
Way back in 1980 when we were freed
Got our independence from Britain after a war
Sit back, relax, i will tell you more

The boy on right is me
This was at primary school during tea
Break time at Frank Johnson School
For us, blacks, a breakthrough

The boy on the right is me
This was the first time you see
Blacks and whites mixed in schools
We were the pioneers of the new rule.

The boy on the right is me
He was quick to bust many myths
Wore a merit badge in English
Best all round, the others thickish

The boy on the right is me
Became an engineer he could feel
Found life boring and quiet
Until he became a poet.

The boy on the right is me
Yes, that is me
Look carefully you will see
The boy on the right is me
