Who Was There? - Poem by colleen martin

As the years go by
You start to realize who
Your real friends are
The ones that stuck by you
Through thick and thin no matter what
The one who it didn’t take more
Than a day to recover from fighting with
Who you felt the worst leaving
Who you were the most excited about
Seeing.
The one who didn’t call you
Bad names even when you were fighting
The one who you spent hours laughing
With about absolutely nothing
The one who you could tell anything
To and have it never get out to anyone
Most of all the one who you’re thinking about
When you read this poem.
