but the day goes on.
Fighting for your life,
in sadness and in strife.

to wipe away my tears.
She's heard every plea,
witnessed all the years.

As the smile began to fade,
and a single tear dropped;
he was no longer an aid,
Just a friendship that stopped.

I might miss you,
and I might cry...
If only you knew,
the smile I lie.

Trying to be strong,
trying to hold it together.
I'm trying to tape this opened throng,
and piece it back forever.

It's really ending;
coming to a close.
My heart cracking,
but nobody knows.

Sometimes you hurt,
sometimes you plead.
Once in a while you're curt,
every now and then you bleed.

I've realized it's wrong,
what I thought before.
I have to be strong,
all the way to the core.

Don't patronize my ways,
if you have yet to understand.
Ignorance pays,
and stupidity is bland.

I couldn't tell you if it's real,
or how long it's gonna last.
I can't say how it's gonna feel,
or why it goes so fast.
