Why I Write Poetry Poem by Walter Krijthe

Sometimes words come unbidden
Words that usually are hidden
They lie dormant in the mind
Where they're very hard to find

Suddenly these words come out however
Though before you saw them never
And the words just come right out
Telling what you think about

What you feel and what you ponder
About things that make you wonder
Yes those words lie deep in me
And sometimes they are set free

From the mind where the were hiding
All just waiting, just abiding
Suddenly they're clear to me
That's why I write Poetry
