Why My Love Poem by AMANDA Le Roux

Why My Love

I was looking forward to our first Valentines Day together
For now I found the girl to share my life with forever
your beauty and grace, there was no better
to fly away or to romantically dine?
What would please this lady of mine?

But you, my Delilah had different plans
To you, I was just another trophy
You did not even cared a damn
As you already had another man

While I was waiting for you to come home
Palpitating heart, bursting with excitement
over what you will do when you walk through the door
and witness the red roses all over the floor

But you my love, preferred to spend your evening elsewhere
in the arms of your new cheap bear
Laughing and drinking while I sat and wait
until I realized it was very late
To my lips I put the bottle of rum
not stopping until I felt numb

The front door opened at four
My lady was very drunk
Hi, she greeted me, holding on to the door
Were you with another man, I asked
Ha-ha she laughed, you are such a bore

She looked at me through hazy eyes
Lips swollen from romance, but not with me
I saw the revolver, why did it catch my eye
Sorry, I am a bit drunk
But you, dear Oscar
are not for me with those stumps

One, two, three, four the shots went off
Her laughing stopped,
her red blood coloring my carpet and couch
Sorry my love, why did you do it
My little Delilah, my Valentine my love
