Wind Beneath My Sails - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

Like a constellation of flags
Hoisted on martyr soil
Fluttering in the nascent wind

Like a bevy of catamarans
Drifting to Aeolus’s thrust
Softly merging with the ebbing tide

Like a rainbow of kites
Dancing to the melodious waltz
Of a midsummer mistral

For you my love
Is the tempestuous wind
Beneath the sails
Of my archaic ship

That unveils a glorious horizon
Each passing day

the finest poetic tribute from a lover. Great work DG.
