Rich in a realism that makes the simple splendid. Well done my friend! (Report) Reply

Kelly Kurt! My skin is also a victim of itches. I never imagined it could be expressed in a poem so nicely. But now I read the topic of the poem, it's life! Yes, man has been given a life of itches in the dry air of pains beyond his control! (Report) Reply

These itches seem more intense in the winter of one's life

True, but you weren't specific about where it itches. Reminds me of the movie Aiplane where someone says to Leslie Nielson Get that finger out of your ear. You don't know where that has been. (Report) Reply

For some reason, the itches are predominantly where I can't reach. : -)

If you were writing a tanka, I would ask that you add in another line about chapped lips and bloody noses. :)

Nice writing Kelly. Thanks for sharing of yourself everyday!

    Take care.

I am sure there are more related complaints to winter's aridity. Static build up can be fun and interesting but can be dangerous as well
