Winter Love - Poem by Genia Chiu
I love you.
With all your faults and cracks.
But... that is not the way you love me back.
All you see are my faults and mistakes,
Selfishly, while you do constant retakes.
Of pictures and memories that try to erase the old,
As time passes, your attitue grows cold.
It's like Winter love you see.
So white and beautiful,
While frightening like the sea.
The flakes, like feelings, so thin like mist,
Washes over me, hitting me witha gentle fist.
I am amazed at the beauty of your winter love.
So beautiful, icy, flowing, deadly.
Wit intricate patterns and design.
Each flake, like each hurt, so beautifully carved.
So time-consumingly made.
The melody that is played,
swirling around smoothly, suddenly.
Turns to silence.
And I am alone. In my pain so great.
In my love, so deeply woven, that only I can untie.
But... I am unable to because it is so beautifully bind.
I love you... but sadly, not with all your faults and cracks.
That is now the way you love me back.
