Winter Starts - Poem by Ashley Ritchie

Winter starts

Of winter there is rain,
such a said refrain,
A country doused in pain,
thinking light wont come again.

The rivers rise higher,
our clothes get no dryer,
cause of many a stuck tyre,
there is no sun to hire.

And then from the gloom,
colour goes boom,
lights in every room
christmas I presume.

Then all this fades,
the end of the parades
then for darkness we trade
the sun in her days.
