Than solitude itself?
For it never leaves you,
And accompanies you in times poorly miserable.

The parasite,
Grows on you,
Growing each day,
Feeding on your petty little troubles
...

Long hours spent in planning;
Thinking of days to come...
Each day passes without telling me
The present gets lost
...

As the sun rose
In the forenoon
The lark sprang
And jumped and danced a quadrille in air
...

She sang that song in solitude
That came out like a sweet dark secret
Out of the flute of an unknown flautist
A merry little tune it was!
