World Weary Child - Poem by Rosemarie Diano

Staring at the waning light
I think about my life ahead
I see the problems and the plight
That i’d have to face alone again

Misery is what I see
The sun and moon merged as one
With all the wars and all the farce
The peace has gone to neverland

What am I supposed to do
What am I supposed to say
What is the real purpose
Of this life that’s grey
When will it change
When will it stop
When will it all end.

I think about a paradise
That’s been straying into my head
And quietly i start to pray
To make this world a better place

Heck, but im just a kid
What difference can i make
What problem can i solve
What good and for whose sake

Well, tell me
What I am supposed to do
What I am supposed to say
What the real purpose is
In this life that’s grey
When will it change
When will it stop
When will it all end?
