Writing Poems - Poem by Dii Y.
To write a good poem is such hard work,
Where does my creative spirit lurk?
I cannot seem to make words rhyme,
Not on my first, second, or last time.
Some people can write wise poems and raps,
Why is all I ever write filthy crap?
My friends and family give me support,
But it always turns out on my school report,
‘Dana, you just haven’t got a gift for writing,
Devote your time to another sensible thing.’
But Ms Ellis, I want to say,
I like writing poems, just let me stay.
I’ll try my best—though I’ve always been,
I just need you to believe in me.
How can I write a poem after reading what you wrote?
It was so horrible, so please take note:
Read all this and believe your sight,
Your contradiction has made me write!
