Following your comment on my 100th poem, I have come to read your 100th poem.It is such a marvelous piece of writing well deserving to be your 100th poem. From our childhood to our late life, we always seek outside approval to be happy. We want praise and acknowledgements for our looks or talents from others without realizing that happiness lies within us , i.e.wisdom, love and beautiful soul. Growing pains from what other says can shape or break us when the mind believes their words to be true. Glad that you have found true happiness. (Report) Reply

A beautiful tribute to your mother! She had nurtured you well to be the person you are. She taught you the source of happiness. A great write. I remember these lines on happiness:
    Happiness is like a butterfly,
You chase it, it would elude you by flying higher
    But stand among the flowers,
It will come to rest gently on your shoulders.

Happiness is a thing the human being always interested to get from be it from the parents, society, and another human being happiness expects by all. This is a good poem of happiness and the poet deserves such inspiration from the readers I think. (Report) Reply

An epiphany. Many think that the source of happiness is material things. But here, through your personal enlightenment (thanks, in part, to your mother) , you’ve shown that true happiness is found in wisdom, love, and a beautiful soul—not in material things. Thank you for sharing. (Report) Reply

When all is said and done, appearance seems to matter so little to our overall happiness, unless we are mentally unsound..otherwise I should have had a terrible life, based upon my looks..people often enjoyed telling me I had none or describing what they considered my worst flaws! But I still found happiness, and I don't want any other beings to have to suffer..we all need so much love when we are little, so that we can learn to accept ourselves and love ourselves for what we are inside of this opaque shell.
