You Do What You Have To Do Poem by Marilyn Lott

You Do What You Have To Do

Rating: 3.9

I notice as I grow older
And I blunder along my way
You have to do what’s right for you
And you have to do it your own way

I don’t think there is a right way
Or a wrong way to go about things
Life is complicated enough
You certainly don’t need strings

Each day we take care of necessities
For some things have to be done
Once we do those things then we
Might take time out for a little fun

Putting things in perspective though
Gets a little complicated sometimes
People and ‘stuff’ get in the way
Of our priorities at times

And life can get so exhausting
But we just do the best we can do
Just plug along from day to day
I wonder, have you noticed this too?

A very nice poem Marilyn. You often seem to think as I do.

I like this a lot, it's a great conversational piece told in a lightweight manner but with some pretty heavy stuff interlaced. Great piece of poetry. HG: -) xx
