You Promised You Wouldnt Hurt Me Poem by charlotte marie peachey

You Promised You Wouldnt Hurt Me

You promised you wouldn’t hurt me
You swore you would always be true
And now I look around
And I can’t seem to find you

You promised you wouldn’t hurt me
You said you would always care
Yet I turned to see if I was wrong at first
And you still aren’t there

You promised you wouldn’t hurt me
You swore that I’d always be your girl
Never leaving me alone in this dark
Heartless sometimes cruel world

You promised you wouldn’t hurt me
You said you would always be true
So tell me why I sit here crying
Acid tear drops over someone like you

the voice of a shattered heart....... how much we expect from people around us, from life but all the expectations and promises shunned.. the bitter truth which we have to accept and deal with.. great work, well expressed! ! ! !
