Your Shadow - Poem by Perfect Fool

I think it’s you
I think it’s all you
The stranger that picks me up
When life gives me another punch

I think you’re the stranger
I found wandering about my head
Discovering so much of me but
Unafraid by what you found

And I know
I know
I could dive off the tallest bridge
And I’d still fall safely
Into your arms

I think you should know
Perhaps you should know
That I’d fight forever
Just to walk in your shadow

I think I trust you
I know I trust you
My stranger, my protector
When I need some safety

I think that I need you
I think that you know
You make me smile
When I’ve got nothing at all

And I know
I know
I could cry for days and days
But you’d still stop me
Safely in your arms

I think you should know
Perhaps you should know
That I’d forget how to fly
Just to swim in your shadow

But I'm never empty
With you on my side
And I’d follow you forever
Your shadow forever
Your shadow
