And Jack Frost's antics that precede and far surpass December The great metamorphosis from sterile winter's hoary scene
Transforms earth to kaleidoscope spinning shades of green Colors spew from nature's palette laying radiance to view

The first glad token of the Spring is here
   That bears each time one miracle the more,
   For in the sunlight is the golden ore,
The joyous promise of a waking year;

The forest creaks
Branches weighed down by snow
Ice crackling
Breath steaming

At my grandfather's funeral
obese lady playing preacher
looking dike and butch
but missing the flannel cut off
