For me it was love at first sight with Sherbrooke right from the very start I loved the place
But now I feel the time is ripe to move on where mine would not be a familiar face
For eleven years I've lived near the Town of Belgrave and on looking back how quick those years have gone
And I am getting older over fifty and I won't be sorry to be moving on.
Farewell my noble rebel so cold and deep the grave
But you were not afraid of death and you were always brave
You were my favourite brother the one I loved the best
The rebel heart from Latvia has gone to peaceful rest.
Cliff Fraser leaves south Gippsland with Ann his devoted wife
He was born and raised his children there and lived there for most of his life
For to help other people he goes out of his way
He has worked for worthy causes and never asked for pay.
Heather wrapped a blanket around her in her final resting bed
And Laz and I we shovelled earth upon her beside the garden shed
And in her old home in Brown Street her bones at rest now lay
The old brown canine Woofy her lot will be ours one day.
